This was so simple and is going to save us a ton of money! This has no lye in it. I have never worked with lye and I did not want to try it without someone who knows what they are doing. I will continue to try this with different essential oils!! I am excited to have found something so easy!!

I can't say I blame you for not wanting to use lye. As a little girl, I used to watch my grandma make the lye from scratch and then make the soap in large cauldrons over an open fire outside. Lye, especially the homemade variety is very caustic. Not something I want to mess with. Your method looks so easy. I will have to try this soon.
I'd definitely want to learn from someone before I tried anything like that on my own!!
Great video! Music was nice touch. I am so ordering this stuff today and I am going to make some. How long did the process take from beginning to putting into the molds?
15 min. Once it melts, you are good. So easy!
I ordered my stuff! I can't wait to make them. I have a bunch of new oils, too! :)
@thefarmerswife Well in short in looks amazing.
Thank you!
howdy there @thefarmerswife! there you go again makin somethin else that we'll all have to make too because it's pure, natural, healthy and saves a lot of money. so we got no choice now that we know about this stuff, great job! lol
Thanks for watching! Appreciate your support!
Well done on making soap! I love the lavender. And of course goats milk goes without saying. But...Excuse my South African ignorance; what is melt and pour? Is it like a ready made? How does it make soap without lye?
It is ready made. It already was made with lye. It's just a base with no smells or anything. I have no idea how to use lye and would have to watch or help someone before I'd take on something like that.
Someday (soon-ish) I'll post about making goats milk soap from scratch. As long as you are very careful (protective gear plus outside and mixing correctly) the lye part is really easy. Soap making was scary in the beginning but, like anything, it's easy once you know how.
If only I could come watch!
Great video! As soon as I start to think I have my self-sufficiency bases covered, things like this come along and recharge my interest in learning. I've never considered making my own moisturizing soaps, but I'm ordering the stuff now. Thanks for dropping this knowledge, @thefarmerswife!
Awesome! Hope it turns out wonderfully!
Hi nice to see you again. you done it great job.keep it up
Thank you!
Look great!
Thanks!
Don't let the Lye scare you. It is definitely not something to take lightly - but its not as scary as everyone makes it out to be. I have been making cold process soap for 3 years now. LOL I remember how nervous I was the first time handling the lye though. So long as you wear gloves and have eye protection there is nothing to really worry about. I hope you will be able to find someone to teach you the joy of making hot or cold process soap. It really is an amazing craft to learn. Cute video - Lavender is one of my favorite scents to work with too.
Thank you! Would love to learn!
