Yep it's not just tit jobs and dentistry people travel for! In Europe people are denied cancer drugs because of the cost to the NHS by the Pharma companies. I'm not big on state run business but in the case of health it's a no brainier... for the people by the people!
These prices are terrible! Even 1500$ is definitely too much. It's a matter of health and life. I know, business is business, but most of people haven't enough money. And what they can do? It must be changed. Thanks for post @theouterlight!
I doubt many people in the US or UK think of India first when it comes to healthcare. The reality of the situation is that in both US and UK there is an emphasis on always making money. Big companies make more money on providing small doses of the "cure" rather than the complete "cure". Its both sad and pathetic...
That is the reason we prefer India to other countries in health tourism.
Very True...
$84,000 USD for a course of this drug and between 3 to 7 million people infected. The drug companies aren't exactly short of customers are they? If everyone was cured 2 million of Hep-C at the asking price of $84,000, thats a gross of $168,000,000,000!! I don't see the justification here, it's pure greed no matter which angle you look at it :(
