The word from the more woo-woo circles is that the-powers-that-be/cabal/global elite (whatever you want to label them,) are making a last, desperate grab to retain control (id est, accelerated global 5G rollouts, restricting access to decentralized digital currencies, online censorship of websites, independent journalists and content producers that speak against the mainstream narrative, etc.)
Regardless of what happens in an attempt to control how people can access, possess and use cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, et al, will survive because of their decentralized and distributed nature. Nodes will continue to run in jurisdictions (and by people) that can't, or don't bother to, enforce such silly wishes.
