Ryan, thank you very much for bringing in Vanessa Beasley to talk about the Gilets Jaunes movement and the government’s response. Her analysis and her assessment that this is a tragic and frightening situation are right on. As a French citizen I was touched when she said it brought her to tears. My parents are in their eighties, their lived through the German occupation during the first world wars. Their parents lived through two world wars and our families lost limbs, life and were missing. We have tears in our eyes too, and are horrified. Many French people have been asleep at the wheel and are now waking up to the realities of globalism of the EU politburo, of the banks and large international corporations pillaging the assets and the soul of France. Not only of France. I maintain we are all in the same boat and I appreciate the way you have been telling it the way it is on TLA.
The movement of the Gilets Jaune was just a matter of time. I have been following the movement pretty much since its inception and spent ungodly amounts of time sifting through raw footage, MSM footage, alternative media footage which I have condensed into short posts in English.
A few additional comments:
- Since the start of the movement, Macron has not pronounced the name Gilets Jaunes one single time, instead referring to them tangentially as homophobes, anti-semitic, and hate-filled mobs.
- Neither has he or his interior minister (who by the way started his career early with the Marseilles mafia) made a single mention of the cead and the injured
- The measures he proposed were either planned, a lie, or a joke. The French call them “mesurettes”
- He gave a raise to the police force
- The French MSM is subsidized by the taxpayer’s money and beholden to the state (they are the ones who pushed Macron’s campaign forward)
Finally, as far as the Gilets Jaunes candidates to the European elections, this is a highly controversial topic. Ingrid Levavaseur has attracted a lot of ire. Indeed, many Gilets Jaunes say that no-one designated her as their representative, that they are suspicious that her militantism might have been subtly highjacked by pro-government actors to propel her on the official political scene with the intention of diverting votes from opposing parties, which in the long run is going to benefit Macron. There is a petition going around to demand that she remove all reference to the Gilets Jaunes and the RIC (the Citizen Initiated Referendum, one of the primary demands of the Gilets Jaunes) from her campaign.
Much more to say, but gotta go to work. (forgive any typos, no time to proofread)
