I must not be royalty lol sometimes I get em mad and they have my number for days I step out on the porch to light up a smoke several hundred feet from the hives and not even insight of the hives and within seconds I got bees headbutting me and pinging off my face yet the wife can go outside or the kids can play 30 ft from the hives and the bees could care less lol

Hahaha Well, at least you are surrounded by some special women. Not too shabby, imo!

Great post! Look forward to more from you!

You are smoking! You stink. Sorry couldn't resist. Though It is about smell. Fear, tobacco, perfume.

sometimes I don't even have to light up LOL I just posted a video of one of my meaner colonies i've had, not the meanest her momma was way worse

I use a smoker so little that I have given up on keeping it going. If both generations of this line is bitchy the odds are its only going to get worse.
May be time to get a new queen. Aggression is one of the negative traits of inbreeding. Well next year if you don't have a good spar still on line. I like to keep on or two on hand just in case their is a late season problem. The introduction of chosen genetics can boost your stock.

She was the product of a neighbor getting a TX queen I killed that line

I can see why!!! Had a few over the years . I like the simplicity of your system.

i've tried a few methods divide and concure is the best in my opinion, if I have time I will leave the boxes back for at least 48 hrs and then the box with out cells has the queen. then all you gotta do is knock all the cells off give em a frame of eggs from a calm queen put em back together and don't open again for 6 weeks If big enough I usually give each box a frame of eggs and end up with 2-3 new colonies.

I have been working on a new page for http://beemaster.ca I left out the egg option focused more on queen replacement but it is a valuable option if one has enough drone diversity around.
