Just a note about being surrounded by desert : israel is the only country in the world that have stopped desertification, and it is actually gaining areas that were desert and now are forested. Hebrew is the only language in modern history to be revived and put back into daily use after 2000 years of being in so called storage and used just for religious purposes. There are a few more amazing facts about israel but, hey, you just explored israel so you probably know....
