Vlog 43: Why I am going to start crossposting to youtube and how this will help Dtube.

In this video I explain why crossposting to youtube will help Dtube and how it is going to help my happiness, work ethic and financial stability. The video is on the longer side of things so I will try and summarize here.

First off Dtube and steemit have done more for me than any other platform and I will always remember and have loyalty to the steemit blockchain. Please don't take any of this as complaining, but rather strategizing for success.

Since getting on steemit and dtube I have fallen off of other social media. This isn't helping anyone, I between all of my social media I reach about 2,000 people, (only 200 of which are on YouTube) by utilizing those channels I can work to bring more users to steemit and dtube. Specifically by growing my viewers on youtube I find more fans that are interested in video content. By posting more content, more personal content on dtube, I will bring my fans from youtube to dtube. It is impossible to do this without posting on youtube and actively working to build my youtube following.

My goals are to become a full time content producer, videos photography and music, and I am willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen. Earnings on youtube and dtube are both up and down and somewhat unpredictable. Posting on both platforms allows the potential for more financial stability and increase my chances of being a full time content producer. If I am able to achieve this goal it will help Dtube tremendously because I will be able to create better content and more content exclusively for dtube.

The nature of IPFS and dtube is that of impermanence. I think this is great, In the video I meant to talk about Tibetan sand mandalas and how cool and impermanent those are. But unfortunately I am not a monk and when I work really hard on something I can't help but feel sad when it disappears into the abyss of posts older than a day. It's hard to work up motivation to put hours or days into creating awesome content when I know it's going to be gone in a week or two. By crossposting to youtube I can motivate myself to spend more time on creating better content.

Ultimately I'd like to make my dtube channel able to financially support me without those big dtube upvotes. However right now I am pretty much reliant on those for my videos to be profitable and who doesn't love a dtube upvote? For whatever reason it seems like the quick videos I make are always the ones to get the upvote, not the ones that take hours and hours of editing. It easy to fall in the trap of making videos just for that dtube upvote, but ultimately I want to work to make the best videos possible having multiple platforms to share these helps with the motivation.

thanks everyone for their support, and stand by for some better quality videos!

~Noah

I did the same my friend ! Glad to see another like minded person on the same level. =)

I'm beginning to suspect that the forms of social media we've all gotten used to will be competing with the blockchain versions in the near future. Therefore, it's probably a good idea NOT to abandon YT, FB, Twitter, etc. Because the payout is going to improve, or creators will be leaving in droves.

very good point

YouTube is to well established to ignore. This post makes me remember MySpace and how I used to love that platform. I was sad when Facebook overtook MySpace’s popularity and rendered it limp in the Internet space. Maybe one day D tube can do the same to YouTube .... maybe ...

For sure, I’ve been on YouTube for more than five years. I took a hiatus because I was posted about my add revenue being taken away but I am now willing to work to get it back.

You follow me and I will same you.
