Here it is a freezing 27°F (-2.78°C) and I am taking a walk. What's wrong with me!!!! Well, it needed to be done. I was having such a horribly emotional day yesterday and I needed to do get out of the house. So I packed on the layers (I don't have a coat) and headed outside. It was such a gray, overcast day. We have some winter weather coming in and so we are having to deal with nature's preparation for it.

@priyanarc and @Ravijojla, how's this for fashion statement!
Since I have been looking for the Christmas Spirit I decided to take some photos of the local holiday decorations and I found a few around the neighborhood. There were so many giant ornaments hanging from trees, Santa flags, and holiday light throughout the neighborhood as I made my way towards Swan Lake. It was definitely a wonderful wake, even though it was cold.

The story of this neighborhood is a very interesting one that I will be making a video soon. I can tell you that the place that is now called the Swan Lake District and the Cherry Street Area was once owned by a man named Orcott. He built this area to be a place for the middle-class families to live and he made sure it was an amazing place complete with school, churches, businesses, and even an amusement park. But you will have to wait for that story. I have so much more to tell you!
Scott and I were challenged by the adorable @snook to try doing 60 days of DSnap videos. We have been wanting to have more of a presence in the Dtube World because we really believe in this platform.

Look forward to hearing more about the Story and this County and how it came to be with a preset middle class and all. Thanks for posting
Sorry, but somehow you slipped through the cracks as I have never had the pleasure of meeting you (as Iam also in the alliance myself). And @katrina-ariel tipped me off tonight about you :)
@katrina-ariel is just the sweetest. We are only 108 days old here on the blockchain so it happens. You found us when you needed to so I'm not worried.
When we moved awy from Tulsa 15 years ago I had no clue about Tulsa history. Now I am looking for it everywhere. We chose where we now live because of the history and the more I find out, the more excited I get. Never knew how much of a history nut i was.
Thanks so much for spending this time, i really appreciate it and your kind words.
Ren
Yay! And the family grows closer. :) I got out for a walk today, too. It's good for the body, good for the soul, even if it is cold! ;)
It was very worth it. I took some really nice photos too.
Ren
Interesting, I'd love to know more of the story as well. The decorations look nice in that one photo too, thank you so much for sharing :D
You are very welcome. I have been trying to find my Christmas Spirit and felt that it should be findable when looking for the outdoor decor. As for the neighborhood history, I'll be working on the video this week. I have a few more shots to capture, but soon.
I think the fashion statement is perfect. These days if someone doesn't like my fashion, I just assume that they actually think I give a damn about what they think about me. ;-)

Haha! I honestly dress to be comfortable. I'm too old and too busy to care for the most of the time.
I am curious to see you making video on your neighbourhood.

I am hoping the video comes out well. I have been thinking about it for a while.

This area has some great decorators for sure. I loving seeing hiw creative they can get
Oooh Ren - you had me shivering here too, watching your little face getting all pink! Why don't you have a coat? Do we need to have a WW whip around and send you something downy and delightful to keep you toasty this winter? I love your videos- I think your face and voice were made for them. Love you WW sis! Evie x
Firstly, thank you so much. I love hearing that I am doing okay on my videos. I am always worried that they aren't very good and I'm wasting everyone's time.
Secondly, the coat. I wasn't complaining, please know that up front. When we went to San Francisco in January 2016, we had decided we were going to visit Yosemite. We researched and researched to understand how to dress correctly for the cold weather we would be encountering. Everything we read, each video we viewed, and wilderness profession we visited stated layering was better than one large coat. So, when I get situated for a hike in very cold weather I wear between four and seven layers. In this video, I had a thermal, thick t-shirt, sweatshirt, and a warm jacket. This plus my had, gloves, and warm socks, I was comfy.
I would like to get a coat someday, but I have a specific type I want to get and we always end going on a trip so there is just not enough money for both. The mindset we have is thing vs trip... the trip always wins. Hence why we are always broke. HAHAHAHA
Hope this calms your worries a little.
Love you too WW sis!
Ren
Aw Ren - I LOVE your videos and I'm being serious. Never a waste of time- always a joy!
That does calm my mind a tad. I went into mummy mode haha! That makes a lot of sense about the layers though. I can imagine why your trips always win out over stuff. It's always about the experiences, isn't it. That's my new motto in life, too!! Broke but happy ;)
Evie x
I am definitely relieved about the videos. It does help me. We are noticing that we get a bit more upvotes with the videos and that the engagement seems to be more with the videos.
I get mummy mode. I get there a lot here in our apartment building. We are the oldest tenants and I see these young weirdos just don't understand things at times. When I see one of them having issues such as the young woman that only had a bed, coffee maker, and minor things in the kitchen. I keep trying to find the things she needs. Ugh, hate the mommy mode most times.
The layers work well, but there are times I would like to have a coat, but I'm so picky. Scott doesn't even attempt to get for me. So, give me a trip instead. I can always put on or take off a layer. haha.

I do not use instragram everyday. I do use it, but not everyday. Silly s2s
Loving the fashion statement! It's cool in the mornings now in Kuala Lumpur and I have to pull a sheet over me to keep sleeping since I get so cold. I'm not sure what the temperature is, but this proves I am a wimp now.
I used to live in Denver, and 27 degrees was my limit. Colder than that, and I was taking a cab or bus to work :)
Are you using the advanced tab on dtube to create this nice steemit post? If so, are you doing this at the same time you upload your video? I am having such a struggle with the technical details on dtube. But I really want my steemit side to look better. Sigh...
Oh, I am so freakin' jealous! I am so tired of the cold and it is only December! Oh my goodness!!! We want to visit Denver someday, but not when there is that much snow and coldness. haha.
Pretty much while my video is uploading I go to the SteemIt page and create my post. That's it. Just put it all on there then copy and paste on the Dtube page. You can't see the formatting on Dtube it, that is why I create it on the SteemIt page.
I fear I won't be formatting tonight's post. We are running so late. But the Have Ya Met... post took forever!!!!! It's got some good introductions though. We had some really nice ones.
Talk soon.
Ren
Ok - I will try. Are you pasting what you do on steemit into the first tab, or going over to the "advanced" one? You are not going to post at all from steemit, I assume.
Denver was a fun city, but too cold for me.
I'm so glad you got your delegation so you could get back to your "Have Ya Met" posts. I will look out for it :)
I copy what I wrote from the SteemIt create page and paste it in the "basics" tab (never realized there were three tabs there!). I do this because i can see what the markdown code looks like.
Thank you so much. Granted it is only intil Christmas, but it gives us the chance to try a few things out.
Thank you for sharing even though it's cold outside!!
It really was. Thanks so much for stopping by!
If only I could get -2 for christmas! We get -20 to -30 this time of year. Better have a coat or, well, we die lol.
Walking helps you stay warm and good for taking a breather. Good for you for taking the opportunity ^_^
Yeah, a coat is needed for those temperatures for sure! I am in Oklahoma and it doesn't get that cold here so the layering works. It is supposed to be in the 40F here today so when I take my walk I will just do a light layering. Gosh, -20 to -30... oye!!!!
