About Shared Adventures
"Founded in 1994 by Foster Andersen, a survivor of a spinal cord injury with quadriplegia, Shared Adventures has provided hundreds of life-enriching recreational and social activities for people with special needs...Our diverse Calendar of Activities includes kayaking, art classes, surfing, trips to local venues, sailing, indoor rock-climbing, river rafting, dance parties with live music, archery, camping trips, whale watching, bowling, horseback riding, table tennis and much more. We are always searching for new, fun activities to add to our calendar!
SHARED ADVENTURES
This is our homegrown GoFundMe campaign to generate the funds for our first "DUET Wheelchair Bicycle Tandem" in our County, for use on all our dedicated bike paths (including disused rail corridor).
They've been building these DUET bikes in North America for 20 years!!! We should have a bunch of them in every County by now, to give alter-abled folk access to outdoors, to give them access to dedicated bike paths for jaunts with friends.
Note: we are going for the [more pricey] battery-assist version of the DUET. This will allow us to offers rides to all manner of riders, even if we ourselves are lightweight! Price of a manual DUET is $4,7500, price of a battery-assist version is $9,500.
Here's what Mobility Access has to say:
"The DUET Wheelchair Bicycle Tandem has been around for 20+ years in North America.... The DUET accommodates "kids" from ages 2 to 99+ and all sizes from 20 to 275 pounds! The DUET is offered in 3 models. Each are colorfully designed and combined the latest in cycle technology with advanced wheelchair design enabling easy and comfortable pedaling to ensure maximum maneuverability with minimum effort. The wheelchair's low center of gravity provides superior weight distribution and overall stability. The DUET wheelchair seat supports the back in a natural position and aids in passenger relaxation. Most importantly, the cyclist can easily communicate and supervise the wheelchair passenger while facing forward. It’s the exhilaration of the wind brushing by your face as friends and family ride together. Once you’ve reached your destination the wheelchair disconnects and can be used independently!" [Mobility Access]
Mobility Accesss offers guidelines for possible funding sources, acknowledges that one person is unlikely to have the funds to purchase one of these
"Many, if not most, of our potential customers lack the resources necessary to purchase the Duet Wheelchair Bicycle Tandem.. Where should you start in order to find the funds necessary to purchase the Duet Wheelchair Bicycle Tandem or the Orion Twin Tandem Cycle and enjoy the outdoors like never before..?"

You have a minor spelling mistake in the following sentence:
it should be calendar instead of calender.Thank You for your fine-tooth comb proof-reading! I do appreciate :) Actually I lifted that paragraph from Shared Adventures website, so I should feed that spelling error back to their webmaster.. Thank You, and thank you for reading my post!
