I love dystopian stories and movies. The best movies are The Hunger Games, Divergent, Maze Runner...etc. something about life after the apocalypse is so appealing!
Simple, solid pointers for any writers. I see a lot of decent work that would be a lot better if they stayed in scope instead of messily trying to keep our attention by adding every exciting element possible within a short piece. Also, the first story reminds me of how I view so many aspects of our society- every area of study was invented and fleshed out over hundreds of thousands of years of talented people participating. The idea of licensing has become so accepted, yet it stifles a lot of progress by excluding unique talent from joining in. Recently I saw a post on facebook asking for a licensed tarot card reader and I LOL'd at the silliness of it. Of all of the millions of people who study or use tarot, it seems some group took it upon themselves to declare themselves the legal entity to charge people for a license haha. Stopping people from inventing is a scary yet logical step it seems haha.
Man really ...i have been here on steemit for a while and i have never seen any post like this 6 minutes amd 343$ ...you are awesome....
Is this a dream....@bhuz you are awesome...
I think we may or may not be living in a dystopian age, but we are certainly living in an age of dystopias and literally at every turn in a bookstore aisle, we’re increasingly likely to stumble across a vision of our world, through the looking glass but though we shall also find a rising crop of new entries into the dystopian canon, from younger authors with fresher concerns about what, precisely, could spell our doom. Its funny how they don’t just appear in the sci-fi section, either since it’s fashionable to be pessimistic. Thanks for the great ideas and foresight(This is futuristic!!).
I kinda miss the optimism of early science fiction. The thought that humanity would overcome some of its inner demons and that technology would free us instead of enslaving. It would make us more human and not less.
Same here unfortunately those just do not sell at a high enough volume to make it worthwhile to promote to the masses or at least so we've been told but I am currently wrestling with a few ideas myself so please do feel free to share with me some things that you would like to be able to read or perhaps even see
hi friends @chronocrypto greetings from Venezuela, very good post, I liked the image very much, I would like to have a little more time with this borrowed computer, to make a better constructive criticism, but I will be giving my contribution with my vote and this short comment of his post, nothing more to say his amgo always @manduto are wanted 🙌
I have so many great and fasinating ideas or at least so I have been told time and again however I really do have a tremendous problem with writing down my ideas whenever I do so I tend to develop writers block after about 10 or so pages or sometimes then I'll my precise idea with the same dialog and action set pieces and that just further discourages me from moving forward and I just discard my work but I do thank you for this posting as it has awoken my desire to at the very least try and write a couple of pages
Thank you for this. I've always loved dystopian stories. Especially the ones where everything looks like an utopian society and the characters start discovering the big flaws in the system and how not everything is what it seems. Writing it however is something that I've always struggled with. So I really appreciate posts like this one.
The hell..? I thought I was following you already. Problem rectified.
