An easy to follow Four Steps Mastery Formula to become a good basketball player or a good tennis player.
If you can jump and run, you can be a good payer if you have the discipline to follow the Four Steps Mastery Formula. To be a good player to enjoy the game and become physically fit is different from becoming a champion in the game. In every tournament there is only one champion team (basketball) or individual player (tennis).
To be an outstanding basketball player, you must have the height, physical endowment , gift of jumping and shooting. The most critical element is starting very early in handling the ball and playing the actual game. Most talented players are trained by their parents at very young age and that gives them the advantage. In Australia, one talented basketball player by the name of Ben Simmons started to handle the basketball at the age of two and started playing the game at the age of Six or Seven. Both his parents are professional basketball players in Australia.
Who is Ben Simmons? Benjamin David Simmons is an Australian professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association. He is now 22 years old and he is 2.08 meters tall.
Take a look at the world number one tennis player Naomi Osaka from Japan. Who is responsible for her talents? The father started her and her sister in tennis at very young age just like Serena Williams and Venus Williams. Their Parents are the initiator and coach.
Their father knows best regarding the Four Steps Mastery formula. Who is Naomi Osaka?
Naomi Osaka is a professional tennis player who represents Japan. She is the reigning champion in women's singles at the US Open and the Australian Open. Osaka is ranked No. 1 in the world by the Women's Tennis Association, and is the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles.
Naomi Osaka is now 22 years old and she stands at 1.8 meters. How does she acquire all the skills to be a champion? Her father applies the necessary Four Steps Mastery formula for her to be a good player.
First is the compact learning of all the necessary skills and the frequency of repeating each skill hundreds of times daily to perfection. She was made to hit thousands of balls regularly to ingrain each skill into her endowment.
Correction and coaching during play follow whenever she practices and competes. Confidence grows when you become good at each stroke and a good mindset is established.
Sharing my journey to become a good basketball player.
I came from a big disadvantaged family and I remember my first day at school (age 7), my interest in basketball was kindled when I saw my elder brother playing the game at school before the bell rang.
I started dribbling and shooting the ball whenever I had the opportunity. My PE teacher was a good basketball player and he started training A GROUP OF SMALL KIDS all the basic skills to play the game. I was one of the kids chosen and I went on to represent the school team.
When I continued my secondary school in Penang, I was boarding with my eldest sister who is married to a Penang businessman. There was a basketball court behind my sister's house and I played the game regularly. I went on to represent Penang State and the national team.
How to apply the Four Steps Mastery formula for your kids to become a good player?
Parents play a critical role in encouraging your kids to be physically fit and healthy. Playing a game like basketball or tennis well will encourage your kids to play the game as long as possible. Playing tennis can be a life long process to keep healthy and fit. Once your kid plays the game well, he is always encouraged to continue playing the game.
Knowing the Four Steps Mastery formula is important for any kid to be a good player not a champion.
What are the elements of the Four Steps Mastery formula?
Knowledge of the game and its skills is only one of the elements of the Mastery formula.
First Step:
For your kids to master a game well, the first step they need is high-impact learning and drilling. The best way to cement new knowledge or skills is via accelerated learning ... specific techniques of gaining new knowledge or skills that deliver the best results in the shortest possible time.
Second Step:
Your kids need high-frequency practice and exposure. Repetition ingrains information and skills into their minds at a deeper level. Remember Naomi Osaka was made to hit thousands of balls to develop each skill.
Third Step:
Your kids need ongoing support - to keep them focused and help them overcome any obstacle that crops up when they start apply the knowledge and skills.
Last Step:
Once skills are developed, your kids gain confidence and they will develop the right mindset to be a good player. Remember that habits are tied to the subconscious mind. When they think they can play well, they will achieve it. If you do not have the mindset, you will never be a good player. If you believe it you will be encouraged to improve further and get interested in the game. Your kids may end up to be a champion if they have develop the right mindset.
Start them as early as possible and they will be a good player to enjoy the game.
