Astronaut Alexander Geerst has taken pictures of Panic super Typhoon Tramy from his unique position on Earth from the International Space Station.
The stunning images show the intensity of the storm as it makes its way into the western Pacific towards Japan and Taiwan.
"As if someone were pulling the planet's massive plug," Gerst wrote in the caption attached to the pictures, describing the intense storm and clouds hovering over the deep blue ocean.
"I'm staring into another stormy storm, Typhoon Super Typhoon Trami 5 can not be stopped, and it's going to Japan and Taiwan," he said.
Although the cyclone has lost some of its strength ever since, weakened in size and lost the state of the typhoon, it still poses a threat to northern and central Taiwan as well as Japan's Ryukyu islands.
