Art as Form of Trauma Healing

in #earthnation7 years ago (edited)

After experiencing trauma I have been exploring the many ways to creatively heal and reconnect with my true self. One form of "therapy" I greatly enjoy is creating art. My brain is able to melt into the bliss of putting color onto paper and my thoughts become focused on creating beauty. I love to color! Coloring is an expression of my soul. Today I will share the piece that I made. I used a combination of glitter and "shiny" markers in this piece. In my other works I use coloring pencils, sharpies, gel pens and more. The colors of the day are purple and gold. These colors make me feel empowered.

I hope you like it! I will continue to share them if people desire :) Thank you steemit community for all the love. Your encouragement keeps me going. I appreciate you in so many ways. Blessings. Love Cassiopeia

I love to color. I've colored & shared a lot on here over my 6+ months here. I also color for reasons that help with my trauma & ptsd. Be well& color on!

I am so glad we have connected! Thank you for all the support. I look forward to getting to know you better. I plan on sharing more about healing trauma and PTSD.

You're welcome. I'm following you now so we will get to know each other better =)
Who's your favorite coloring book artist?

I really like the coloring books "Nirvana" by Skyhorse Publishing and "Art Therapy- Mandalas & More" by Hinkler Books. Which ones do you like? @chelsea88
