Energy flowing, the mind is caught,
Stuck in a pattern of recycling old thoughts,
Submitting to the beast, filled with distraught.
The heart’s on a high that won’t stop
Sometimes in rut covered in rot
The flawed and haunt never to be forgot
This energy is starting to become a clot
When that feeling builds up in the gut
That one that claws inside and fills with salt
Reminds me of the times I kept my heart shut
Everything wrong appears my fault
Those memories that fill me with shame
The ones that I look in the mirror for blame
Creates a distance between the man I became
And the little boy that struggles for gain
These memories never leave my side
They follow and haunt, always criticize
But I am grateful for these lessons in stride
Without them, I would be a man of pride
Humbleness and gratitude fills the space
My breath returns to my Soul with haste
I smile remembering all the pain and disgrace
Submitting to my destiny and universe with grace
I remember that life never ends;
The spark always extends and mends
Into more amends for family and friends
Until we all transcend and our energy blends
That is why we are connected, it gives me hope
It creates a safe space to help me cope
And when we meet, I’ll be so stoked
I love you, and this love keeps me afloat.
