VIVA - The number of victims killed by the 7.0 Richter Scale earthquake in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Sunday, August 5, 2018, continues to grow. From the latest data, now more than thirty people have died.
"Up to now, 37 people died," said NTB Regional Disaster Management Agency Chief Executive, Muhammad Rum, in an interview with tvOne, early on Monday 6 August 2018.
Rum said the victims were scattered in many areas including North Lombok, West Lombok, Mataram, and East Lombok.
"Most of it was because the wall collapsed," Rum said again.
Nevertheless, he still appealed to the public to remain calm. The reason, early warning related to the potential for a tsunami has been revoked.
"Earthquakes often occur, residents stay away from something that easily collapses or walls, other buildings, as well as electricity poles," he said.
