It’s a month before Easter. Now is the time to plan fun activities with your family. If you plan a little, your Easter should be stress free. Well maybe not stress free, but it will be less stressful than if you wait until the night before. Here are some different activities you can do to make this Easter special.
1 Easter Scavenger Hunt – Make a list of items to find and divide into teams. Set a time limit and a meeting place. The first team back with a completed list, or the team who find the most items on the list, wins. Make sure the prize is something teams will want to win for extra motivation.
2 Resurrection Egg Hunt – A little twist on the traditional Easter Egg hunt. Tell the account of Jesus’ resurrection. You can find Resurrection Eggs at the store or online or you can make your own. Instructions for making your own can be found on the internet. Have fun learning about the First Easter. Kids will look forward to telling the story year after year.

3 Progressive Easter Dinner – If you don’t want to host a large Easter dinner at your house, get together with a few families and have a progressive dinner. Everyone travels from house to house eating different courses for dinner. Start with appetizers at one house, have soup and salad at the next, eat the main course at another house. End with delicious dessert at the last house. It’s a fun tradition and no one gets stuck making all the food for lots of people.
4 Surprise Easter Blessings – Everyone seems to like to bless others at Christmas time. Why not do it also at Easter? Find someone who needs blessings and do it for them. It makes it more fun if you can bless someone without them knowing who did it. Ideas include leaving a bag of groceries on the porch of a needy family, doing yardwork for an elderly neighbor, or leaving a plate of brownies for a friend. It doesn’t have to cost anything to help someone else, and no one expects it in the spring.
5 Easter Basket Hunt – You can make this as simple or complex as you want. You can hide your kids’ Easter basket on Easter Sunday and wait for them to find it. Or you can write out clues with riddles or puzzles that leads to the location of the next clue, then the next, and so on until they get to the basket.
With a little creativity and ingenuity, you can create a fun Easter activity or two for your family. If you start early you can easily fit this into any budget. The only limit is your time and imagination.
