Cryptocurrency is spreading faster in developing countries. Indonesia is spreading the most rapidly. In this article we will look at the development of cryptocurrency in Indonesia.
In April 2020, the blockchain team of the Onfo project decided to conduct social mining experiments in several countries to see how crypto assets gained recognition and popularity. The researchers selected four different countries; United States, Germany, Indonesia, and Russia. Where the US and Germany represent developed countries, while Russia and Indonesia are developing countries. A number of crypto assets are given away for free to 100 individuals from each country and each person gets 10 coins each.
All participants will also get more coins if they succeed in attracting other users to try crypto assets and the results show that the spread is much bigger in developing countries. According to the results, this network effect spreads 4 times faster in Russia and Indonesia than in the US and Germany.
Onfo explained in more detail that in the US, 100 participants attracted 1,112 people. In Germany 100 participants attracted 763 new people. In Russia 100 participants attracted 2,304 new users. Meanwhile, the level of distribution in Indonesia can be said to be very large, because out of 100 participants it can attract 4,350 other people.
