August 2017 was the first time I got to see a full solar eclipse in person. Quite the magical moment when the temperature dropped and the animals got restless. We left at 3:30 in the morning for Wyoming after a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Here a few photos throughout are journey.
We made sure to buy several solar binoculars, glasses, filters and lens months ahead of time. We even had some extras to give/borrow to friends and fellow watchers around us. Here is the first shot I took once the eclipse began.
This next picture is when the eclipse was close to totality.
Here the eclipse it at full totality. The temperature dropped a good twenty degrees by totality. The horses on the property got restless and the dogs barked and cowered.

Here is the last photo on tail end of the eclipse
Traffic on the way back to Colorado was story in it's self. What should take 4 hours normally took 12 hours. That was with going on many service road detours. If we didn't utilize GPS it would have taken much longer. We had a great trip and got to see the Lumineers a few days later. Quite an August if I say so myself.
