Did you hear 10 years ago that computers are getting cheaper? It's a lie. The price of a gaming computer stays at around $1000 or more.
How about cars? The same thing and even worse, they are getting more expensive every year. Want to save on cars? Buy in December this year model, not the next year model, and if there is a design change in the next year model. It's still a new car just a little smaller, has bigger windows and easier to drive and more reliable than a next year model. And electric cars are even more expensive. I don't think Elio Motors will make a cheap and efficient cars - even 3 wheel motorcycles are more expensive than four wheel cars. Elio Motors in this reality only can make beautiful pictures.
What about cellular phones? Here the situation is even worse. There was a time when phones were cheap and even free with contracts, but with introduction of smartphones, they are becoming more expensive than computers.
What about gasoline? It is not getting any cheaper for sure, even with new equipment to get the oil.
What about toys? Are they better quality - sometimes. It mostly depends on Chinese factories (as most things). But they are getting more expensive.
Used computers and smartphones are cheap and free because they are not usable anymore - it becomes garbage.
Dollar value is also doesn't rise it's going down.
So, everything is getting more expensive. And Segway will never replace bicycles. And cars will not be replaced by flying cars. And planes by teleportation devices.
Who are we to blame. Probably people in charge and with power to control economic systems.
