Governor of Aceh Irwandi Yusuf laid the first stone of development of Tuna Fish Processing Factory, PT. Confident Pacific Tuna, at Lampulo Ocean Fishing Port, Banda Aceh, Thursday 2 November 2017.
In his speech, the Governor hoped that the tuna processing company can grow and develop, thus contributing to the increase of Aceh fishery production, improving the welfare of fishermen and being a source of income for Aceh.
The governor also hopes, with the birth of the factory can be a trigger of the spirit of other entrepreneurs to do business in Aceh fishery sector.

"This is reasonable, considering Aceh has a vast sea area of 295 thousand km² with a long coastline reaches 2666 km," said the Governor.

The governor also explained, one of the fish species that became the mainstay of Aceh fishery products is Tuna. With delicious flavors and very high nutritional content, Tuna Fish is popular, not only by the people of Indonesia, but also the entire world community.
"Therefore, it is natural that the production of tuna is very important to be developed," he said.
Citing data from the Office of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Aceh, the Governor said the production of tuna that is landed at the Fishery Port of Lampulo in 2016 is 2,459 tons, quite increased compared to 2015 which amounted to 2,119 tons.
Of these, some are sold for local consumption, some are sold to areas around Aceh, such as North Sumatra, and some are exported to foreign countries.
To manage the potential, the Governor said, the Aceh Government will continue to strive to complement the various things or facilities or facilities needed, and roll out various programs of empowerment and strengthening in the sector fisheries and marine.
In this case, said the Governor, the role of the private sector of course as well very needed.
For this tuna, for example, the process marketing and stretching fishermen economy is certainly inseparable from the existence of moving companies in the field of fishery production.
