Such mentalities still exist in Western countries so I guess it's even harder to change them in your country. But there is hope - you were raised different from the norm, your child will be like you - changing society one step at a time.

Yeah they are prevalent almost everywhere but just so strong and deep rooted here so yes, it will be difficult to change them, but you are right, change does start from a few people so slowly we can bring that difference. Thanks so much for the meaningful comment :)
