OMG! That squirrel ran off with your nuts! Sorry to hear that.. .but that will make you more savvy in the future :) Thanks for sharing the story of the resilient and persistent squirrel :)

From what I have heard you don't want to dry out walnuts because the seed would lose viability (opposite of what you do if you want to store them for food) I believe that if you don't put them in soil to overwinter, the best way to store them is in some damp sand in a cool dark place over winter.
