love it! inspiring sagescrub! i, wren, feel passionate about increasing the perennial tubers also as a long term strategy to feeding myself with less effort. perennials are a great way to do this as they're more resilient than annual crops on the whole and the increase yields yearly while your workload goes down. it's not too too common in our modern diet and i'm sure you've heard of many of these, but i'll write them for posterity's sake in the comment (for anyone else reading :)): sunchoke, skirret, mountain yam, groundnut, earth pea... as a start for starch ! :) also resteemed at the hearth
