Feeling nothing but Love and Gratitude for the EcoTrain

I am not a overly sociable person, I love to spend time with my family and occasionally get out and see my friends. Unless there is something going on that I want to support or be part of, otherwise I am happy at my home being a mum and raising my kids. In saying that though I am a huge believer in Community.

I am also a huge believer in staying pro active when it comes to facilitating change. I at times go to the alternative midwife space and get involved in workshops or discussions. Mother and Birth rights is a huge passion of mine. I am also on a mission to reconnect people with nature, in the hope that they will see that we are all connected and what we do to the earth we are indeed doing to ourselves. I like to facilitate ceremonies for different occasions, be it mother blessings or Celtic festivals, all of them are very earth based, it is a message I try to really spread.

Community to me, is not so much about who is living around you, I have got some really great friends who live close by for sure, but community for me is something bigger. It is finding those that share the same vision as you and that wish to be pro active in making that vision become a reality. This is the community I have always wanted.

The way I see it We all have a responsibility to live our lives in a way that is not having a huge impact on the natural world, we have this amazing opportunity to be open and share and learn together. To meet and treat people with the respect that wish to receive from them. The only thing stopping that from happening is ourselves and the way that we think. Of course we all come from different backgrounds, we have all have different journeys which have led us to where we are today. But how we view the world and one another has a huge affect on what comes into our lives.

When I first came on Steemit, I really did not know what to expect, I had never done any blogging before and I did not have a facebook account. I really did not what to be involved in anything that was in anyway connected with the system. I have no ties to any government and I live a relatively free life. My children are not registered anywhere and I do not what anyone trying to tell me how I should raise them. So coming on here was kind of a big deal for me. Because I felt like I would be making my life very public.

In the beginning I put up no photos of myself, I still don't have any of my children, well none that show their faces. It was like dipping my toes in one at a time before I allowed myself to be fully submerged. One of the first communities I came across was The EcoTrain, I was really impressed with the articles that all the passengers were writing and I loved their motto, 'Making The World A Better Place', it didn't take me long until I contacted @eco-alex and asked if I could be considered as a passenger. And luckily for me he said yes.

To be accepted into this great community has really made my Steemit experience all the richer and it really has become such a positive part of my life. Here was me. a woman not really into spending time in front of a screen and a bit too quick to let other people know if I thought they were, discovering this great community that was really bringing people together from all over the world who shared this vision of 'Creating a Better World. Each passenger actively spreading their message of awareness and love on to steemit.

@eco-alex has done an amazing job bringing all of us together and he really makes a huge effort to engage with us on our blogs. He recently asked us all what we valued the most about the ecotrain and for me I have to say it is him. He is all about community, about promoting the importance of community and he is actively supporting them be it on steemit through EcoTrain and also @familyprotection or offline with all the hours he has devoted to teaching natural building. His vision to create a 'real world eco-building initiative!', this is exactly the direction we need to be heading in order to make the world a better place.

The fact that he wishes to achieve this through the EcoTrain bot is even more inspiring. I am not a huge fan of bots and personally I only use the ecotrain one as it is very much community minded and it is also now being used to help upvote quality content that has been written by minnows. By doing this @eco-alex is helping to make sure that those who do join steemit and who do write great content get the recognition they deserve and motivation to stay on board.

So, so much love and gratitude to the EcoTrain, for opening my eyes to the wonders of online global communities, in helping me find such amazing and inspiring people and in getting us to spread that love and those visions far and wide. It really does amaze me when I think of the different corners of the world we all come from and that we have this one focal point in our lives, this one meeting point that has led us to inspire and motivate and educate one another.

It is because of this community that I stayed on Steemit, because of the connections I made with all you amazing passengers. So thank you. Because now I am super active and super involved and finding even more communities to be inspired by.

This is beautifully written as usual and expresses what a lot of us on the ecotrain and beyond are feeling. It's a shining example of an online global community indeed and like you, I'm really chuffed to be part of it.

I'm not a terribly socialable person either and I hear you. I also hear THIS:

Community to me, is not so much about who is living around you, I have got some really great friends who live close by for sure, but community for me is something bigger. It is finding those that share the same vision as you and that wish to be pro active in making that vision become a reality. This is the community I have always wanted.

Your pro-activity in this platform is just a delight and something to be proud of. And I'm happy to be on the ecotrain with you and agree with all your sentiments about it xx

thank you lovely, I do feel so lucky to have found so many amazing souls since coming on here, EcoTrain was definitely the start of that for me, it is constantly moving in the right direction and each person that is on here has so much wisdom and knowledge to share xx

Beautiful and completely agree with you. It really is an honor to be part of this community of beautiful souls!

Excellent post, I "discovered" the eco train recently and really fell in love with its "motto". Your post remind me a little bit of myself, when you wrote about not being a blog person ( same as here), but , as long as I've seen you have done it very well.

This post has it all, your experience, the "connection" with the reader, your point of view and a touch of education. Really enjoy this reading.

thank you @nowonline, I am learning and improving all the time. and yes the ecotrain is awesome xx
