Good tips, especially the part about reflecting on the lessons you learned and implementing them in future things you write. It can certainly be hard to accept that the piece of writing you slaved over wasn't perfect, but you're right in saying that feedback in invaluable to growth as a writer.
Recently I wrote a fantasy story and showed it to my Mum. Her comment was that I'd made the description at the beginning too complicated. My initial response was to think "Oh well she doesn't read fantasy, so she doesn't know what she's talking about." Then I showed the same story to my brother, an avid fantasy reader. Same feedback. Turns out I just didn't want to admit that I needed to go back and rewrite. Something to be learned there!
