Let's take a little departure from our history, the primitive man in his lifestyle had to change to acquire comforts that were equal to his survival, but for that he had to sacrifice many things, as he adapted his way of life to make their needs an easier way, had to go through the invention of fire, the first modes of transport, use of clothing, urbanism of the first cities of the ancient era, invention of the telephone, invention of the TV , invention of: cars, rail transport, and other endless elements made the need for a world hungry for energy, need for deforestation, coupled with population growth (something that in particular I see irreversible), makes that the path through which I see that our current society transits is of calamities, not because of lack of technology and comfort that gives us the advance of science, is because of the calamida d of the deterioration and lack of natural resources to which our planet has been involved.
The natural resources on our planet have had a capacity for regeneration, but that usually only occurs under a series of considerations that are not currently met. We are not giving the necessary time for our planet to regenerate in the reserves of resources that are fundamental in our living:
- Drinking water: The water sources to which we have access tend to disappear, and the few that remain do not meet the basic conditions of being considered as potable water, since due to our daily activities, the which we consider more common, greatly contaminate our streams.
There are two elements that work in parallel, these are the need for drinking water in the world, and the other the desire to seize a few remaining resources, as is the case of our great Amazon rainforest, the plant lung of our planet and with the largest reserves of drinking water on the planet. Now we will be all the inhabitants of the planet, sufficiently ordered and patient enough to distribute evenly all those millions of cubic meters of water without any warlike conflict. Somehow or other we have heard that the next war will be for drinking water, in particular I think it is so much the demand for natural resources, hopefully and not, but perhaps the most powerful nations in the world fight not only for water but for oil and other primary sources of energy.
The air we breathe: There are currently cities in the world where oxygen is sold, due to the high pollution that radiates industrial and automobile activities generating carbon dioxide and other gases that are highly harmful to health of our lungs. It is a sad situation if we analyze it from the point of view that humans are beings within the universe that we have reached such a high level of understanding, but that it has been of no use to have the advancement and the current technology if our atmosphere every time it is raising its pollution indexes.
Generation of food: It is common knowledge that to survive, it is necessary to feed ourselves, so that we have the capacity to feed the entire world population, it is necessary to have the suitable environmental conditions, free of contamination, but it turns out that our soils are also contaminated, each time they are going to pollute more, which is why this question should be asked:
What will be the food of humanity in the not too distant future?
Let me tell you that with few soils to grow, and with a capacity to generate transgenic foods, we will have to make efforts so that our people do not go through the worst of the food crises that may take place in their entire history.
Of what I am sure that in the not too distant future, our society walks on paths of urbanism, of big cities surrounded by great roads that perhaps connect continents, cities and great capitals of the world.
New horizons for a better world. conclusion
The panorama may not be hopeful, but being within our reflective capacities a little critical we can add a grain of sand to make noise within this current consumer society, hungry for resources and energy, where the only hopeful horizon will be to assume a part of the reality that seems reversible, and work on another part where changes arise from the great world monopolies to the individual way of thinking of each individual, that has the desire to add in favor of our resources, where the ephemeral and material does not add up as much in the construction of a fairer society, for the development of the endogenous coexistence of our planet.
Current socio-environmental reality of my locality.
Based on everything explained in previous paragraphs, I want to sustain it with the reality to which the society of the south zone of the Lake is living, specifically the cities of San Carlos and Santa Bárbara, our original activities of years ago, where tourism was a key part of our trip by pirogues from Santa Bárbara to Maracaibo, Zulia State, Venezuela. Due to the contamination of the river, and bad practices in decisions about a deviation in its channel, it caused that not only the tourism activities were affected by the sedimentation of the river, also the fishing activities have diminished.
Based on this reality is where I can conclude, that as this reality is lived in my locality because of our activities where we pollute, this can be seen multiplied in different parts of the world, affecting the way of living in what has food and future refers.
He invited everyone to reflect on walking paths of new horizons, where we can find the balance between a modern and urbanized life while maintaining harmony between environment and society.
