Social Science education has been started since elementary school. The education continued in high school. Learning activities run mediocre. If there is a problem at this level it is not so well received, as it is understood immediately that the social science lessons have not received such serious attention for the students of this level.
In addition, there is still the assumption that elementary school students are new learners of social science so that the problems that arise are regarded as a fairness and not cause distress. The method used also has not been able to make students interested and happy in the learning process.
From here came some problems that resulted from among others students do not like the social science lessons because of monotonous learning, or students find it difficult to learn Social science.
Based on the experience of the authors in the field, the low ability of students to master social science in learning on average faced by a number of students who have little interest to learn. This is because teachers in teaching and learning process only use the lecture method and only fixated with the guidebook and student worksheet without the use of teaching aids or learning media that can improve student ability.
From the above background, the authors in this study took the title "Application of Cooperative Learning Problem Based Introduction Model (PBI) to Improve Student Ability in Analyzing Types and Benefits of Cooperatives in Community Environment in Class IV Primary School
