Introduction
Education is an interim part of each and everyone’s life. Without education, a person’s life is not complete. If a person is well educated, he is capable of doing many things. Education provides us knowledge and with it, we become independent.
Earlier
Those were days when educating a person meant only knowledge transfer, it didn’t mean just homework or tests every now and then, just to check the memory of a learner. A student had to learn only those things which mattered most.
Burden from school
I am a teacher and I have taught kids from Play Group to 5th grade and I have seen these little kids struggle through a lot each day. Education system nowadays is becoming more of a burden than really educating children. Weight of the student’s school bag is getting more than their own weight. A student of grade 2 has to study 10-11 subjects, at the age of playing and learning new things they are burdened by these books. Lots of homework is given that makes them unable to find time for themselves, to explore and learn new things on their own.
Schedule of test
There are many schools which are conducting tests every month. From beginning of the school to the end of the school a student spend his whole life giving tests only. Conducting tests every month causes burden and depression among students, as they don’t get time for themselves they become irritated and frustrated.
Steps to be taken
Major steps to be taken by school authorities in order to make their students feel less burdened.
• Different ways of teaching should be adopted by schools.
• More practical than theoretical knowledge should be given by schools.
• Each students should be given chance to express their real talent in front of school.
• E-learning should be provided to students.
There is high need for changes in education system in present era. Research, development and invention in the areas of pedagogy, and syllabus are the matter of the fact for a better cognitive development of these young minds.
