Hi all this time I want to tell a little about the activities on my campus some time ago. Yes, as I explained earlier that I am a civil engineering student. So a few days ago we did a practicum on campus to test building materials. The material in the test is a material used to make concrete.
Previously I wanted to explain a little bit that concrete is one of the most important structures in civil science. So to create a quality concrete required several stages that must be passed. Starting from material selection to designing the material to produce high quality concrete.
The practice I'm working on is called a slump test. The main purpose is to test the quality of the concrete itself. The testing phase begins with the selection of pebbles whose diameter size passes through a predetermined filter size.
Then after we get we also choose sand with the best quality to work well in the mix design process. The sand used must also pass in a sieve that has been specified. As the picture below where the sand in the filter through a few filters.
Once everything is confirmed smoothly then we continue with the process to make concrete. The concrete that has been made is inserted into the cone mold then we pound it several times. After that the mold is lifted slowly then observe the beyon drop at some point.
If the concrete decline ranges from 10-12 cm from the height of the mold then the concrete is of good quality. But basically material material that most determine the quality of beyon. So if not selected material then the concrete will not be qualified. So little information dati me if anyone wants to ask please leave in the comment field.
