Hi all, this is my first post. As the Computer Network teacher, every time before teaching anything else, I'll open my student mind about IP Address definition.
So, what is IP Address?
The IP Address is a numerical identity consisting of a series of binary numbers between 32 bits (also known as IPv4) to 128 bits (also known as IPV6). IP is used as an identification address for a host such as a computer, smart mobile, router, printer, camera, and other devices connected to the network (intranet / internet) as a means of communication.
*At this post I only try to explain IPV4 or IP 32bit. *
Basically the computer is only able to recognize binary numbers, not decimal as we use, eq: 129.16.10.1. Each number inputted will be converted to binary by the system. Function of IP is as the identity of a host, the IP between one host with another host (in one network) can not be the same, the number must be different from the others. If there is the same IP in one network, it will cause IP conflict, and will be fatal, both devices will not be connected in the network.
IP may be illustrated as a citizen identity number, contact number, or other identity number that will not be the same as the other.
IP Address Class
In this table is the range of Class IPV4, IP class A is the most host, and IP class C is the least. Therefore Ip class C is the most used by small network, like Local Rea Network (LAN).
