Hello friends. The days of yore used to be nice days in education. Teachers were respected people and the used to deliver nice education. Nowadays education has been turned to mere passing of time coupled with terrible brain raping of children to an extent that even simple sums like 1+2 needs a calculator to do this calculation. I tried looking through late dad who was a teacher to see what used to happen then. It stroke my mind to looks at the way they used to scheme and plan their lessons. And that was indeed the secret of their success.
Just take a look at the way they used to train children from early childhood. That times to pupils three square meals was a luxury to almost all learners because parents never used to really understand what was education. Girls then were valued for dowry and they were therefore forgotten and not lucky. Pupils would go home to make sure their herds were watered during the one-hour lunchtime otherwise canes were sure at the end of the day. In other words caning was as overflowing as is Covid and Covid deaths nowadays-just to bring the point home faster. Then learning would be well planned and executed and success was always sure. Even none performing teachers in Kenya would receive canes in front of their learners.Looking keenly every item to be imparted to the learners was jotted down neatly.Its was a culture to all teaching fraternity. Just look at it again.Isnt it beautiful. Even the home schooled will love this. People who make our countries survive today are founded on the products of the old days education.
Public school here in the USA, was founded so people could learn to read; so they could read the Bible! Lest we forget....

Public schooling is mainstream system of education here.I admire homeschooling there.
My niece is in homeschooling her's, she has 5 kids. Public schooling here has failed, it is a political programming tool now, and needs to be replaced entirely!
