Hello everyone! What about the latest idiom?
Alright guys! your Idiom today is " Put your money where your mouth is ", which means "to do something rather than to just talk about it ".
The origin of this idiom is not very clear, but it's known that the phrase related to gambling or betting origin. In a race track when a talkative person extols the characteristics of a horse, is certain on its victory, and then hesitates to put money on it he would receive that statement from someone else (according to Collins's Dictionary of Slang, it dates from the 1940s).
However, in modern parlance the phrase is used in many different situations to tell someone that if they truly believe in what they are saying, then they should do more than just talk about it.
