We love a lot of things in this universe and every time we start liking a certain thing the codes are sent to the brain to crave for it. Liking is accepted but getting addicted to certain things may put your life at risk.
People consult rehabilitation and de-addiction centers to become normal. But some people would come healthier and some remain the same.
Imagine there is a person addicted to a thing called 'A'. The neurons of his brain always send a signal to consume 'A'. But what if the neurons were damaged or modified? yes he won't put his eye on the ‘A’ again!
But the research has been going on and is not successful yet in human beings.
But recently Scientists of Columbia University, who found different regions in mice brain that responds to sweet and bitter tastes, have now altered the responses to curb sugar craving in mice.
The team genetically modified the neurons in mice triggering sweet or bitter responses without the animals consuming anything.
This finding not only helps people to get rid of addictions but also help in treating eating disorders.
