The truth is that there is a lot of "slack" in the first years of school. The German and Luxembourg system have a 6 years "primary" with an emphasis on languages. The European and Intl. system have a 5 years primary cycle. More science, less languages.
Looking back, I do not think the different "teaching levels" at primary level are the main determinant of subsequent achievement.
The ultimate question is what do you think it's more valuable for your children to focus on: languages or sciences. If the former, the 6 years fundamental is probably better. If the latter, then the international school is better.
