I'm amazed at how poorly most Americans speak English. I don't know if it's just that grammar isn't being taught in school, but almost everyone I meet who is under the age of 35 doesn't really know how to speak properly. (And I'm not referring to how people don't know they should use "an hour" and "an historic" rather than "a hour" and "a historic.")

It's appalling how many people don't know the difference between "there," "their," and "they're." People don't know the difference between pronouns like "she" and "her." "Just use either one of them, they're both the same!"

All you have to do is listen to a teenager or 20-something talk for 3 minutes (or less) and you've got a scathing indictment on the educational system. ((Yes, I did mean "less" not "fewer" in this instance as I'm considering minutes based on the whole amount, not by the individual minute))

Is that too harsh for the weekend?
