There are many types of democracy, but all are based on the citizen's ability to choose, not the ability to vote, in Venezuela there is no democracy simply and simply because the people lost their power to choose, you can vote more you can not choose and in that case the vote is useless. The only thing that makes the vote is to give a shade of democracy to a fascist and corrupt dictatorship like the Venezuelan one. The vote is not worth anything when it is the supreme electoral council who decides who won and with many votes, without taking into account the validity of the votes actually cast.

I say again. Free and fair elections are utterly necessary to any form of democracy. Lack of free and fair elections means lack of democracy.
