Conquering your office is the first step to productivity. If you are looking to perform with uninterrupted focus then you need to dominate your environment by organizing it into a model that suits your needs. If you control the room you are in control of your surroundings, this in term produces a sense of comfort and positivity. The need to feel control of your surroundings and not feeling comfortable when you have none stems from a primal need to find security and safety wherever we are. If one is in a space they have no control over such as a cluttered office they will obviously feel discombobulated and unproductive. Understanding the psychological impact of a clean room is a huge motivator to clean your office space and keep it clean. A well-organized work space with minimal distractions will have a surprising boost on your attention and productivity. Once there is nothing in the room to distract you the only thing left to do will be to get to work! Spreading your work out can also be a key in improving productivity in your workspace. An idea would be to have a computer work based part of your office and a non-computer part. This way your mind is locked in on the computer when you need it, and not distracted by it when you don’t. Organizing your space is pertinent in order to be efficient!
