The NATURAL way to protect your family from colds and flu πŸ’œ

Following on from my recent post about the flu vaccines in schools and pregnancy, I would like to share with you a natural and effective way of preventing and treating colds and flu! )

I have just finished making a few bottles of Elderberry Syrup - and it took me less than 5 minutes!

Elderberries naturally contain A, B, and C and stimulate the immune system. Israeli researchers found that the complex sugars in elderberries support the immune system in fighting cold and flu. They developed several formulas based on these complex sugars that have been clinically shown to help ameliorate all kinds of cold/flu. In fact:

β€œDr. Madeleine Mumcuoglu, of Hadassah-Hebrew University in Israel found that elderberry disarms the enzyme viruses use to penetrate healthy cells in the lining of the nose and throat. Taken before infection, it prevents infection. Taken after infection, it prevents spread of the virus through the respiratory tract. What you need to make a single batch:

βœ… 1 x Empty Kilner Bottle
βœ… 1 x bottle 100% cold pressed Biona Elderberry Juice
βœ… 4 x Tablespoons of local honey
βœ… 1 x teaspoon of Fushi Wellbeing Camu Camu Powder (Vitamin C - see below)

METHOD:
βœ… Mix it altogether in a jug
βœ… Pour into the kilner bottle
βœ… Store in the fridge (for months!)

I use Camu Camu powder as it full of antioxidants, a fantastic natural preservative and has the highest food-based form of vitamin C of any food known on this planet!

You could substitute the honey with maple syrup to sweeten (if vegan or under 12 months). Otherwise it has quite a bitter taste.

I will be giving these to family and friends to help keep those winter germs away and I must say it is very very yummy!

I actually split the mixture between two bottles - so it goes further!

DOSAGE:
EldererberrSyrup is suitable for 12 months and over or if you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mumma your baby will get the benefit too!

Take 1 x Tablespoon every day (adults)
Take 1 x Teapoon everyday (children)

If you are feeling sick or have the flu, increase dosage to 1-2 tablespoons every 3-4 hours up to 4 times per day (for children over one use 1-2 teaspoons).
