So this is kind of interesting. Booker didn't make the cut for the next debate, if it ends up even happening with the labor strike.
That's normal. As the race goes on, people drop out and can't make the next cut.
The change that Booker is suggesting is to change the criteria for making the stage to be fundraising OR poll number instead of fundraising AND poll numbers.
The most surprising thing is that the other contenders, including those who will make the debate, are supporting the idea.
I think raising the requirements as time goes on makes sense in the same way that poker buy-ins go up over the course of a tournament. The most successful players continue and the less successful ones drop out.
Also, no mention whatsoever of Gabbard and her issues with the polls and debates in this article.

It kind of makes sense that Sanders agreed; the DNC screwed him over last time. So he’s got a good reason to not believe that the DNC is necessarily doing what’s “good for democracy”.
That makes sense.
Hmmm.... Are payouts actually working?
The Talkingpoint website is showing a payout but Steem-Engine wallet doesn’t reflect it.
Did you claim it in the wallet?

Duh. Never mind.

I've been watching these type of things since one of my friends is running. The criteria doesn't make sense, especially if you want free and open election. No member of my family that I have asked has been polled. So where do the poll numbers come from? And why poll all over the country when the candidates spend their time campaigning for Iowa and Nevada? Polling Idaho and Arizona where there is no activity yet doesn't make much sense. Perhaps polling Iowa would make sense and then poll then next ones as they near? The debates reflect what is happening in the dog and pony show but necessarily what is going on in the streets or in the minds of Americans. Booker is right to question the process. I mean how on earth can CNN host a debate. They are a for profit business beholden to advertisers. How about all debates on cspan where nobody makes $$$ for putting on a reality show.
Right or wrong, this part isn't a free and open election. This is a contest for the Dems nomination.
I agree that the polls should be better constructed.
It's not a free an open election if you need to raise money and get poll numbers. It's all a manipulation. Who gets polled and there is a lot of corporate money going to donor approved candidates. Very hard for people who would to serve for the virtues of serving. The truth is that if voting were really free and open then they wouldn't let us do it lol. Have a !BEER on me!
