Are you in India? If so, that's true, it's so sunny there that there's no good reason not to use solar panels on your roof. Even if it costs a lot to buy, it pays for itself very fast in energy savings with such strong sunshine all year round. Solar energy is basically free energy from the sun after all, the only expense is to buy the technology needed to catch that free energy and use it.

I am in Sri Lanka, yes it is little bit costly but for long term it's a good investment. hope to start small scale and with time I will add bit by bit to the system.
Many modern roof top panels are modular, each including its own micro-inverter so you can easily add to the array one panel at a time. Make sure the panels you choose have that feature though.
