That's really cool! Any idea how they protected the battery from the rain? I could imagine there were some safety hazards back then with the weather - especially since it looks like the battery source is exposed.

I think they just didn't ride if it was raining out, haha. The simplest protective measure of all.
Guess so. I can just imagine so many poor unlucky souls who got caught in a storm. Oh well. Trial and error has made us learn and evolve.
