Electronics is the science of controlling electrical energy electrically, in which the electrons have a fundamental role. Electronics deals with electrical circuits that involve active electrical components such as vacuum tubes, transistors, diodes, integrated circuits, optoelectronics, sensors etc. associated passive electrical components, and interconnection technologies.

Commonly, electronic devices contain circuitry consisting primarily or exclusively of active semiconductors supplemented with passive elements; such a circuit is described as an electronic circuit.active semiconductors supplemented with passive elements; such a circuit is described as an electronic circuit.

Communication deals with efficient, error free transmission of signals or data through a different type of channel over long distance without loss of information.Communication devices include a transmitter, receiver, transducer, modulator, demodulator, mux, antenna etc.

Specialization in communication is basically done in wireless, mobile, optical, data.

What you'll do
Telecommunications – Mobile Phones, Radio, TV and Satellite communications
Data communications – PCs, Tablets, and Cashpoints
Scientific Research – Acoustics, Optics, physics and nanotechnology
Medical instruments – You could research, design and develop electronic components and equipment in a range of industries, for example, clinical and laboratory equipment
Defence – Communications, Navigation and Weapons systems
Aerospace – Avionics, Radar, navigation and communication systems
Manufacturing – programmable logic controls (PLCs) and industrial machinery

What is the future for a Electronics & Communication Engineering graduate?

  1. Placement in software companies like TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, COGNIZANT, ACCENTURE and many more. These companies generally mass recruiters, take students from college campus placement, the however walk-in option is also available in some of the above-mentioned companies.
Salary is about 3-3.5 lac, working hour-8 to 10, loads of work, easy and quick selection process includes Written and interview.

  2. Off campus placement in core companies like BHEL, CEL, BSNL, NTPC, AAI, DMRC , LMRC, NMRC, JMRC NPCIL, BARC, DRDO, etc. These company generally recruit through Gate score. After Gate score, the further process is divided into the interview and in some cases G.D.

Job in core companies like SAIL, NIELIT, WAPCOS, HLL, ATC, BEL, ISRO RAILWAYS, etc, this PSUs take their own exam, after written exam, interview and then final selection. Salary is good around 6-9 lac depending on PSU, work load less but vacancy is less and a tougher competition.

  1. ENGINEERING SERVICE EXAMINATION: A tough exam for ECE student, class A job, this exam is conducted by UPSC every year exam is divided into 3 phases: Prelims, Mains, interview
Vacancy also less, varies from year to year from 50 to 130, salary, perk, allowances, reputation, power make it is best job for ECE student.

  2. Enrolling yourself in Mtech courses, then placement in Mtech college as a master degree holder, Mtech admission is generally done through gate score
Mtech holder if They want to pursue their career as teaching faculty it is better to enroll in further study program of Ph.D.
    Mtech stipend- Rs 12400
    Ph.D stipend- Rs 28-30k

  3. Except these many other options is also available like job in bank through IBPS PO ,SBI PO,SBI SO,RBI ,RRB,LIC many other bank exam.

Job AS STAFF SERVICE COMMISSION: Job profile is good. This exam are Non tech, moderate competition
