Charcoal

Since I have been talking about charcoal as a medium lately, or maybe even thinking about it more than actually talking, I thought of showing the last charcoal drawing I did.
I think it was at the end of last year that I had this commission. So roughly half a year. That is a pretty long time, especially in art. I changed it with graphite because my how to draw videos are also made with graphite.
I think I have enough charcoal pencils for a new drawing, even without the need to go and buy them, because actually it is not very easy to buy a good quality charcoal pencils. I have already burned myself with this. I tried buying it locally and also purchasing from the internet. Every way got me in trouble. Now there were times when everything was good, but some were really painful.

The problem was that they were too old. So that when I pushed harder and wanted to sharpen them, they broke. Slightly touched and they broke. And I can not practically draw with those, because charcoal itself is sooooo hard to sharpen, and if he pencils are in such a bad quality, then it is impossible. Those pencils I just had to get away and maybe use for background blending, but nothing more.
But I still have a set of really good ones, so that all I need now s a little bit f time and ideas I have, so I might start a new charcoal work very soon.

Oh thanks so much:) This is so humbling:)

you are welcome friend....

Awesome painting and so welly shaded.
You are really a painter in true sense, and also capable to draw any thing that exists, heads off.
Bye the way,how are you my friend?
It a pretty long time i have communicated with you.

Oh hi, great to see you again!!! I am doing good, hope to read your posts too more:) What you been up to?

Oh it will be my pleasure to see you in my post.

It's an amazing drawing I love how realistic the tiger looks, it's a fantastic job thanks for sharing it! :)

Thanks:) At least the person who commissioned this liked it too, so i guess i did my part )

Dear edgarsart, Good talent, It's like learning for me because I even posted two drawings but when I saw your art, I got to learn a lot. I did not see the drawing of the tiger, the photo was clicked. When I saw this drawing from the first sight, then once it appeared to me as real as someone has edited it by clicking on the photo

Oh thanks so much for this wonderful compliment:) I hope my works can help and motivate:)

very majestic subject and congrats for having the patience to go into such detail. a word of advice if i may, you should be more brave about using light and dark, contrast, and maybe you shouldn't focus so much on getting the individual hairs until you have the whole light thing figured.
i challange you to draw a tiger using no "fur texture"! like a clay model or smth, its a fun exercise :)

Thanks so much:) Appreciate the advice:) I search every day for a room to improve:)

my pleasure, thanks for sharing your art :) but what about my challenge, do you accept?? :) a volumetric tiger!!! - no hair/fur work.. oh, and no finger smudgin'! just the raw shading, i wanna see the pencil/charcoal marks :)
what say you?

Sounds interesting, why not:)

Its on! looking forward to it! (:

Very talented! Charcoal is such a hard medium to work with. It smudges so easily.

Thank you:)))++++ you are completely right

You're welcome!

Wow it looks like real!! I'm glad you managed to come up with this new art style...for success comes after failure

Thanks:) I have been exploring how to use charcoal for years:)
