I guess I didn't fully understand what you were looking for. I was empathizing with a hard working man deserving a promotion that he worked so hard for. His families well being and medical bills depended on it. A kind of John Q gone crazy. My idea was, that he was so upset that some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouths and he couldn't get a break. The lonesome mans comment was snide to him because of course if you have a blood drenched shard in your hand at the bar , your not ok! Anyway thank you for your reply, nice meeting you.
