Our work on Wind-mine started even before the idea of crypto mining struck our minds. We were developing several renewable energy projects that needed some extra kick off boost to become a reality, as the overall market situation was not very welcoming for new projects at the given time.
But then one day, the idea of crypto mining turned tables and we realized the huge opportunity in mining operations fed directly from our energy production facilities. That is how difficult market conditions for conventional energy producers turned out to be an advantage for us.
How are you going to make it happen?
We have access to renewable energy production projects that are ready to be installed and therefore our ICO campaign serves as a launch button for these projects.
The market situation in European energy market allows us to select among the most efficient aftermarket technologies, that are efficient enough to provide low setup and production costs, yet keep production at expected levels.
Our engineering team has spent significant time tailoring our power plants to be able to survive in the open market of NordPool energy grid, even with relatively low expected sales as the price per MWh. Applying this model to cryptocurrency mining and comparing our key figures to leading mining operators in the world, we see that we are not far behind them in any key indicators.
I would say even more — we hold enough resources to beat most of their figures and that served as the main reason why we decided to create WindMine. We felt we can meet and overcome our customer expectancy levels with our current technology.
Why the energy sector?
We see our lives becoming more and more dependent on technology and a large part of its consuming energy in one way or another. So it is the component that will surely stay actual for many years to come. From cryptocurrencies to electric cars and many other innovative products that come into our day-to-day lives, they all need the energy to live.
Whether the climate change is real or not (being a bit sarcastic here) it is obvious there still is a lot to do to become more environmentally responsible. Renewable energy is and will be a huge part of it.
What can contributors expect?
WindMine has a long-term market presence plan, and that’s why we are focused on technology and ideology that won’t lose its actuality over time. That is the main reason why we are going to hold our WMD token reserve of such size — to be able to develop a second and third phase of our project and keep delivering value to our contributors over the long haul.
As a team, we have always been working in sales, both retail and B2B, and therefore customer satisfaction is nothing new to us. I’d even say there is some sort of positive internal competition drive in our company as we strive to prove that we can beat our major competitors. That will surely reflect our contributor satisfaction level using our mining service.
Tell me about yourself — where are you from, business experience, hobbies…
My business experience started when I was 18 and started to work for a large retail company. I felt I needed to get hired by a big entity to prove to myself that I am able to make steps up on the career ladder starting from the very bottom.
8 years later I left that company to start my own business endeavors. Today I am running an international telecommunication company with a large base of international customers. I have an amazing team besides me that is able to overcome rather difficult business and technology challenges with confidence and conviction.
The best training Telco business provides is a sense of urgency in problem-solving — if somebody’s call is not connecting or some SMS is not reaching the recipient on time, it is something that has to be solved in minutes at maximum. Not tomorrow or next week.
Apart from business, my heart belongs to basketball, but nothing relieves stress better than long bicycle rides. I try to keep my shape up to the level where I can ride my favorite 100km route at least a few times per year.
