As your account name was new to me this morning @gingbabida, in following up your being featured in PHC's / @steemitbloggers daily feature post, I have looked into your profile more and found this post.
I genuinely appreciate efforts like this one. And wholeheartedly agree with this ...
"Your comment should be at least 50 words, and not just the repeatitive, heartless comment, such as 'nice shot,' or 'beautiful scenery.' Rather, it should be engaging with the aim of getting to know each other more."
... for the most part. Particularly the leaving of all but meaningless comments. "Save your strength" for something you believe in is my usual private thoughts upon receipt of them.
The only variation for me is the "aim of getting to know each other more." Yes, again, I think that is great. If you (we) are so moved. We are individually motivated by different things. My personal focus is writing meaningful comments that add value to the work of the author who wrote the post. We will inevitably get to know each other better, as we do this, since we are "seeing" what others are inspired to write "from the heart" in reaction to reading our work ...
You have "led by example," in providing your own comments for illustration. That is great. If you will permit me a suggestion, I would encourage you to provide a link to the posts of those of your participants you have chosen to reward. We always "hear" a lot about "quality content" in writing posts. By providing examples, you are encouraging "quality content" in engaging with our fellow Steemians.
Okay, that is enough out of me ... 😉 Just wanted to let you know I really appreciate your thoughts expressed here and wish you well going forward with this initiative.
Upvoted and resteemed.
P.S. Written some time earlier this morning, but could not post, with this morning's escalation between our Top 20 Witnesses and the young Mr. Sun ...
Wow! You've written a novel. Hahaha! 😂 And I love it. This is one of the most heartwarming message I have read @roleerob.
You are right, there is so much that motivates us and in different ways. It is another to add value to the work of the author and it is another forge friendship.
I would never have stayed here on Steem if I didn't interacted with people who eventually became my good friends. And that's what I really hope to develop on people. Comment, make friends. (I hope you get my point. I'm really good at expressing myself in English, since I'm not a native speaker.)
Thank you for taking the time to evaluate my contest @roleerob. Please know that your effprt is very, very much appreciated. I will follow through with your suggestion, and would ask permission from the participants if I could use one of their comment as a sample. ❤
Have a pleasant day.
P.S. I woke up today and I read on Discord about the mess. Huhu! 😭
I like your style @gingbabida. Yes ...
... in the weekly CEL contest post, I have never even been in the top 10. But ... The number of characters shows I write content which consistently would have me in the top 10 on that particular metric. Like you, if I am going to take the time to write a comment, I want it to count, as it comes "from the heart."
And, yes, we can certainly both work to add value to our Steem blockchain (which is why many come in the first place), while at the same time engaging with others all over the world. And, in so doing, create some very good friendships. At least as much as that is possible in a "virtual world."
Take care! And together we'll soon find out how this mess "high over our heads" is resolved. If it gets resolved (it is very serious) ...
I don't get on the CEL contest post often too. I think those that host a popular contest are the ones that are on top. (That's only my speculation.)
Hopefully, I can understand what is going on. But I really can't, in my limited knowledge. I can sense the panic on the GC on Discord, so I guess it is quite serious. 😭
Have you ever let @abh12345 know you'd like to be in the weekly accounting for the CEL contest? That is, are you already on his list? If so, I would think, given your passion for good comments, you would do well.
From what I know, those who win, like @wakeupkitty, are just prolific commenters. She could tell you what it takes, as she has actually won!
As for the fate of our Steem blockchain, it is hard to say. I know there is a great deal of talk about a hard fork. With the hope that sufficient numbers of Steemians, like us, would follow the "old guard" into what would likely be a major rebuilding effort ... The current blockchain, now controlled by TRON / Sun, would theoretically then be an "empty shell" ...
Yes, I am included in the list already. And I make it to the top list, too. 😊
And oh yes, Kitty is very efficient in making comments. She's a pro. She even had her entry an the first day that the Proof of Engagement was out. Very quick fellah!
I cannot comment on the Steem's current standing, as I really cannot understand what is the implications of what is happening. I see people powering up. Others are powering down. Chaotic environment nowadays. I don't know what to say. Le sigh.
I am.not a pro and it's still a miracle to me what it takes to win. Look st the list. It's not about commenting only, posts, upvotes count, the amount of words, etc. Each day I try to read, commment, read some new people bit it's clearly not enough..It's a combination of all factors given. This besides of the fact it takes me 10-16 hours a day with my slow connection and mobile phone. That's for sure way more hours the rest invests in this plstform. 💕
