On a basic level, there are 4 types of people:
why, what, how and what if.
why, the reasons for doing something,
what, the details of the something,
how, the process for the something
what if, the possible applications of the something
While people move between these points depending on subject, understanding these four points as supplier can help engage more of the audience.
For the most part, if people don't know "the why", at all, they are unlikely to invest time, effort energy into it. If for example, you like the why, you will explore further into the what and how and potentially find new what ifs when a creative thinker.
I am a what if person at heart, but understanding this means that to get access to future possibility, I need to know what and how and of course, the why has to attract me in the first place.
