RE: The Curation and Engagement Leagues πŸ† - STEEM prizes & steem-bounty available! 🎁

Congrats to all the winners. No idea how the top 3 even come close to that many characters...seriously @janton are you human? or are you doing things like saying ggggggggrrrrrrrreeeeeaaaaaatttttttt jjjjjjooooobbbbb ttttttoooooo booooooost your numbers...lol Seriously that is an amazing job you did this week!

So knew my week was off more then a little due to the Wife being gone but this was a pretty weak showing for me. Will step up my game again next week hopefully even with the Wife still being out of town...maybe in 2 weeks I'll be back in the top 20. That seems like a good target for me without spending to much time on comments.

@abh12345 the more I think about the dinging of self votes I wonder why? Newer members do need to spend some of their voting power on themselves as they need to grow their SP above all else. Heck at 700sp I feel this is still critical to growth and being able to keeps leasing 1000sp to use to help upvote others with higher values.

Just my thoughts on the topic and I know it's always nice getting honest feedback on my contests so figured I'd share it. But know it's your sandbox and your rules...not that I even think I'll win anything ever with all these comment spammers running around like @gillianpearce (J/K...you know I love your your commitment @gillianpearce, keep it up!)

howdy @thedarkhorse and thanks for the compliment lol! actually when you ask if they are human that question is best asked of @glenalbrethsen because I can't hold a candle to his numbers on one of his "normal" weeks. Actually I just try to stay close to him which I usually can't but he's an inspiration.
thanks for all the work you're doing to help others!

From what I can tell, @janton, you don't need much inspiration. You've pretty much caught on to how things work. I will admit to not having a normal week at all last week, and so far this one is shaping up to be similar. I'm hoping to work my way through it.

Congratulations on your outright win this week, and your second No. 1 prize winnings in a row.

thank you sir @glenalbrethsen..what has been going on the last couple of weeks if I may ask? I know it's super hard to spend the time here and also juggle your real life projects, duties and chores.

Truth be told, I'm not sure what the deal is. The motivation has been lacking. I'm sure part of it has to do with my wife wanting me to find work, the slow down here, and a feeling like I'm taking a step backβ€”the momentum I was building through the latter part of April into May has been waning. It's all expected, but it's been taking a toll, too.

On top of that, I think I'm getting a little bored, and maybe somewhat impatient, neither of which are good. So, as I said, I need to work through this, and quickly.

I've had similar bouts before, but the leagues helped me get through that, and progress was made. Now, I need something else, I guess. I'm not even sure about thatβ€”I don't need to take on more, I just need to do things differently somehow.

oh ok, I thought perhaps it was something like problem solving at home or working
on summer projects around the house or something.
But if it's boredom here and you've been through it before then you'll just work through
it this time also... but how do you change it up so it isn't boring for you?
I mean how different can you do things? especially after you've honed your methods
to perfection! lol. well at least very efficiently I assume.

Well, that's just it. I'm not that efficient yet. The problem is, there's not really a set time for things to happen. Ya'll come on at different periods of the day. I haven't been able to really set one specific deadline for anything, so answering comments can be immediate or up to two days later.

The boring part is spending way too much time writing about different aspects of Steemit or other topics that people may have an interest in that I would rather spend writing what I want to write, but that doesn't have as much of an audience yet.

I need to continue to expand my circle here, I think, and yet continue to engage with those, like you, who actually reply, and figure out how to do that in an eight hour day instead of 14, since a part or full-time job is supposed to be in my immediate future. :)

lol! I like that last sentence because that's my situation.
When you devise a good system then let me know because I
determined that this can't be an 8 hour a day job, I just don't see
how. and all those hours burn people out after awhile.

What kind of job do you want to do if not bus driver and accountant(gag and gag!)?
managing some type of business?

Geez @thedarkhorse, I can't wait for your wife to get home, just to hear you stop complaining about it all lol

LMAO...she rubbed in going Snuba-ing (scuba/snorkeling???) and lazy river tubing today. I'm so not done complaining. She is home Saturday...then and only then will I stop...lol. Well maybe a couple extra posts to show off her amazing trip and I might whine a little then too.

hahaha I've never heard of Snuba-ing, but I'm sure it's way more fun than whatever it is you've been doing lol...which will explain your next whiny post I'm sure haha

You know it's been kind of interesting doing things on my own. Think that the first couple days were all fun, then reality set it and I was saying WTF did I do to myself, and now life if just happening as normal. A little more hectic doing it all on my own and tons of things not the way they would normally be, but overall think we are getting into a decent routine. I'll probably have it completely figured out the day she comes home ;) .

I'm just happy she is still having a good time. Not sure how I'd be doing at this point surrounded by family and doing everything together like that. At least when we do family vacations we have our own rooms to retreat to at night. The 5 of them are sharing 2 condos so there isn't that break each night. Was a little worried how that would go, but my Wife says it's been great.

I hear you; just because it's different, doesn't mean it's not right. Things always get done, and I suppose we stress too much about a lot of it. Really, who cares if the towels are folded a certain way, the beds made "right" etc. Don't get me started on which way the toilet paper roll gets hung though. Them's is fightin' words :)

I'm with you...I've always been happy seeing family, but happier to retreat to my room at night. I don't know that I could share that kind of space and not get a little tired of it all :)

Don't get me started on which way the toilet paper roll gets hung though.

Oh that is one of your pet peeves too? It must be the right way or I will take it off and redo it.

The only other one that really annoys me is not rinsing dishes all the way. Why bother rinsing most of the food off and letting the rest dry on the dish? If you already are taking 10 seconds to rinse it mostly why not take 12 seconds and rinse it all the way? The kids drive me crazy with this one

Towels and all that, could care less as long as it's not creating more work later be being lazy up front. Better to do something once and correctly then have to come back to it and do it a second time because you half assed something the first time around.

hahaha I think everyone has the tp nerve!

My dad always said, 'if you can't do it right, don't bother doing it at all', and then we kids tested that theory and found out he just meant, don't do things half assed haha

The dish thing would bug me too :)

Hey there

Yes part of the reason I asked the community the other week was due to the potential to grow your account with some self-voting. I'm wondering about changing the formula to not reduce the score for 'number of self-votes <= posts' - what do you think?

I would think that up to 7 self votes in a week is reasonable. That is posting daily and upvoting your own post. IMO why would I invest my money (which I've invested cash) and not at least upvote my own posts?

I think a vote a post sounds fair and will probably ask what others think today too.

Either way I'm not winning this thing as the machines have it in the bag...seriously demand blood samples to prove they are human. Thanks for the consideration on the adjustment!

I'll be nowhere this week, too much distraction!
