Greetings, how are you steemit friends? Wish you good health always. Today I will discuss still architectural knowledge because we know that architects not only design based on building aesthetics but many other things more complex that should be thought by the architect until the building is comfortable and livable.

One of the things to consider is about the acoustics of the room will be planned, building acoustics intended to make users comfortable uninterrupted with noise caused or other noise.

Noise can be generated from many things such as, human voice, vehicles, water pipes and so forth, the noise referred to here is a sound that can interfere with comfort.

But what is the acoustics of the room and how to create a comfortable architectural acoustics for the user of the planned building?

We should know first what it is acoustics and sounds.

ACOUSTIC AND SOUND

Among some sources mention that acoustics is derived from Greek meaning "heard" [source] wave-shaped and accepted by the senses of the listener.

In science, acoustics is a part of engineering that studies how to control sound, creeping sound, vibration and other things about sound [source], acoustics also has many sub-disciplines such as architectural acoustics.

The architect should be able to formulate the cause and effect of the sound generated even when the sound is spreading in free space because the sound can be generated by anything.

Acoustics can be understood as sound phenomena that change due to reflection or propagation on a particular object.

While the sound is a longitudinal wave that propagates through any medium. [source]

Humans can receive or hear sound waves between 20 Hz - 20 kHz [source] and can not be heard or received by the eardrum if less or more of the sound waves.

The reflection of sound on a surface is called an echo and experiences a delay time [source], whereas the vibrating, jittering air molecules in a particular region also have a low pressure on the other region forming alternating waves through air delivered to the human sense of hearing called the sound waves. ACOUSTIC ROOM

Acoustic space affects the reflection, propagation or sound reproduction so it would be very disturbing if not done well in accordance with the calculations.

The architect will utilize a sound change in a room by applying a certain material to directing or muffle the sound and is called the acoustic space. [source]

Two basic things related to space acoustics. [source]

  • Changes in sound due to reflection
  • Voice of another room.

Examples of rooms that require special acoustic attention are, karaoke, theater, and others, where some rooms are made to be able to absorb sound and some others just take the sound reflection.

The sound reflection that we often hear is the sound reflected passive wall because it does not use material that can absorb sounds that can interfere or cause noise, even in certain conditions you can hear the echoes generated from the reflection of sound in the empty space.

Along with the development of technology, now many types of materials circulating in the market can be used to absorb or clarify sounds like gypsum and so forth.

Usually, the architect must know the function of space to be planned, sources of sounds that affect the room and what materials are suitable for use in the room.

But in some special cases, the architect will work with an experienced expert to create an ideal room so that the room is considered ideal and comfortable to use.

In addition to utilizing the type of acoustic material to muffle the sound, the architect will also direct the sound on certain conditions so that the sound produced more comfortable to hear.

CONCLUSION

The architect will consider the acoustic aspect generated from the design result, so that the comfortable and uninterrupted play of unwanted noise, the architect requires experienced experts on jobs that require attention to special rooms.

In addition to the material aspect, architects will usually make the sound biased to no longer heard by humans by utilizing a serrated texture or with a particular design to capture sound waves and muffle it.

Room acoustics can be applied to any room that is considered important and the user can be comfortable when using it because it is not disturbed by the noise that is not desired.

In accordance with what I learned while studying at the University of Malikussaleh, Aceh is the right of humans to get a comfortable dwelling and free from noise pollution.

This is the only thing I can write on this occasion, over all the mistakes and lack of unintentional writing as a servant of God, I apologize.
