Hi everyone.

With the goal of @steemph.cebu as a community account not only for Cebuanos, but also other Cities in Visayas, we are fully supporting @jassennessaj's Steemit-Engineering campaign.

Their Engineering community was a big boost to Cebu talking about Steemit, with the likes of @themanualbot, @mikekenlytungal, @rejzons, @jassennessaj, @jaderpogi, @philiparniebinag, and other Engineering steemians who were gaining recognition in Steemit that helps Cebu recognized.

With that, we wish to support this initiative by donating 50% of the SBD proceeds of this post. It will be sent automatically once it gets its payout. The remaining 50% will be used to fund community initiatives.

We were able to get the names courtesy of @jassennessaj's post for the final names of students availing the shirt.

Support this initiative

We believe this initiative will create a big impact in Steemit, and a big impact in making a better community here in Cebu. If you have any initiative/programs wanted to implement within the Cebu community, please free to contact us within this post and we will try verify and help you with it.

Thank you and More Power!

I would like to share my thoughts for this:

  1. This idea has been running in steemit for months already. We're just taking it slow for there are things that more important than this. We believe funding it thru steemit is great way and not a "free money" sort of a thing.
  2. There are two kinds of steemians/investors, one who invest his/her time and one who invest his/her money and time. And we're proud to say that we invest our time and purely rely with our talent here on steemit so there's no problem with what we are doing "funding" our initiative, what's steemit for? If some investors think steemit as a profit generator for their investments, so as we. We think steemit as a collaborator for our initiatives. It's a mutual relationship, we give and take.
  3. We are doing this not just to promote steemit but to give thanks to our fellow engineering friends/students. We want to embark strong bond in the society where steemit is recognized and acknowledged.
  4. Lastly, if people think that this is unnecessary and that you think people thought about it, think about on some initiatives were funded with thousands or even millions of steem just to get through. And to add, some of these initiatives are for certain benefits and specified people, not for the whole community.

Thank you for reading. 😎

I think I missed the update for this. Did we all vote for this? How much budget for these shirts?

Is there really a need for us to spend money on t-shirts?

How many t-shirts do we need? Is it really necessary?

Sorry, I just thought we should think about long-term goals. Just my honest opinion. Sorry, If I am no help to this community. I am busy organizing the CEBU STEEMIT CONVENTION.

  1. There is a need for this. Necessary in the sense that we wanted to build communities for Steemit users situated in Cebu, especially Engineering Steemians.
  2. There is a need for us to spend money on t-shirts, where do we get funds to produce them? We believe providing/wearing such helps them in their blogs, and with the design so cool, they'll surely wear it - giving exposure of Steemit to other students.
  3. Budget are identified, and will soon be okay with the collaborative effort of everyone.
  4. This is part of a long-term goal - *Providing a healthy & sustainable community.

Yes. I respect your opinion @purepinay.
Good luck & God bless to CEBU STEEMIT CONVENTION.

Jass

Are these people that we are giving the shirts to already on steemit?

There are other ways to (expose) promote steemit without us spending money.

We cannot keep giving away free money, free money meaning we are using the community's money to spend on these shirts. I understand the purpose but we have to be a little conservative when it comes to 'how we spend'. I hope I am making a little sense.

Thank you for getting back on me @jassennessaj. I really appreciate your time. Where are the others? Have you talk to them recently? Are they all on discord?

This isn't free money. Its a Steemit-Funded thing. Just like the World Food Day Celebration - Money is just a substancial thing, it is still powered by Steem. Most likely, we want to build communities here. I understand your point @purepinay, thank you for sharing such.

The post indicates the registered Steemians availing the shirt :). I understand there are a lot of ways, but its the way we feel for the community to be better.

Just like yours, the way you spent for your Steemit convention. When in fact, you can do online orientations.

@jassennessaj, there is a difference. The Steemit convention is coming out of my own pocket. Not even from funds generated from Steemit. Im also not soliciting funds from the community, or asking for any help.

@purepinay is just trying to help you all succeed, by maintaining a conservative balance on the steemph wallet.

You may think this is the most effective way to grow, and I hope we can sit down together before or during the conference to talk about some ideas I have.

Thanks Rob for dropping by. Btw, we see no problem posting these kind of things to fund the shirts. Besides, we don't have that money as you have and as what we always think : We wanted a steemit initiativr also be funded by Steemit. There are posts intended for our earnings, and there are also posts intended to be poured to the community.

If time allows. We'll do our best on your steemit convention.

@jassennessaj,

If you can believe I was not born into money. I worked hard, and retired when I was 25; Because I differentiated between wants/needs. I never sell advice, and give time to anyone that would like to be in this same position.

I want nothing more than to see all Filipino Steemians to get wealthy from this platform. However, by creating T-shirts for a specific group, seems counterintuitive to wealth generation.

Spending money as soon as it comes in, places your group in stagnation and you will sit idle while many other communities that come after you, pass you by.

For instance, if this posts makes 50 SBD and you spend it today, it's worth roughly $50.

By powering up, you would be able to compound this amount, and multiply it's worth by 2-3x in time.

This is the biggest issue I would like to discuss at the convention.

I am a friend, and hope this post doesn't offend you. I am just blunt with my words, as is @purepinay.
